The Alchimista Bed and Breakfast, is a historical residence full of charm, located in the medieval village of Turi in the province of Bari. It is a charming town known in Italy and abroad for its tasty , fleshy and heart shaped cherries called “Ferrovia”.
The House has been made from the elegant and refined renovation of a 16th century old building and has been built entirely of local stone with thick walls and vaulted “ceilings”.
At the end of a long restoration the new owners, spouses De Carolis, with fond respect of the structure and
History of the building art have uncovered aspects of archaeological and architectural interest along with other items of artistic value. In particular a 17th-century stone “ palmento” used in the 17th century for grape pressing, a staircase with stone balustrade, a stretch of road
from the middle ages by to “opus incertum”, a large fireplace from the 17th century and ancient majolica tiles “riggiole”, Neapolitan and Pugliese pottery.
The Alchimista B&B, comfortable and welcoming, offers its guests two spacious suites full of charm, independent and customized, enriched by antique furnishings in keeping with tradition and refinement.
