The Alchimista Bed and Breakfast, is a historical residence full of charm, located in the medieval village of Turi in the province of Bari. It is a charming town known in Italy and abroad for its tasty , fleshy and heart shaped cherries called “Ferrovia”.
The House has been made from the elegant and refined renovation of a 16th century old building and has been built entirely of local stone with thick walls and vaulted “ceilings”.


At the end of a long restoration the new owners, spouses De Carolis, with fond respect of the structure and
History of the building art have uncovered aspects of archaeological and architectural interest along with other items of artistic value. In particular a 17th-century stone “ palmento” used in the 17th century for grape pressing, a staircase with stone balustrade, a stretch of road
from the middle ages by to “opus incertum”, a large fireplace from the 17th century and ancient majolica tiles “riggiole”, Neapolitan and Pugliese pottery.

The Alchimista B&B, comfortable and welcoming, offers its guests two spacious suites full of charm, independent and customized, enriched by antique furnishings in keeping with tradition and refinement.
It is an ideal location for everyone of all ages. The Alchimista makes it an easy and pleasant place to rest, taking away the stressful life of every day. In its very pleasant rooms you can breathe the atmosphere of yesteryear in complete relaxation and quiet privacy.

The historic house “the Alchimista” is conveniently located. Turi is a great strategic center to move around, to discover and admire the surrounding region, to visit neighbouring places of extraordinary beauty and culture like Polignano a mare, Conversano, Alberobello, Grotte di Castellana, Ostuni and Matera “city of rocks”, UNESCO world heritage and European capital of culture for 2019.

Puglia, an extraordinary and vibrant region, is immersed in the splendid scenery of its very orderly countryside, that is divided by the typical dry stone walls, expanses of olive and almond trees, vines and cherry trees. Punctuated by the ancient and charming farmhouses. Caressed by the Adriatic Sea. Full of colours inspired by the sea and fields . Here where at each step we breathe art and history, the many traditions, religious cults and folklore. Never forgetting the rich culture of food and wine, now known and appreciated all over the world.
